- Profile information: vessel details, boating experience, preferences

- Content you post: reviews, marina listings, broadcast requests, forum posts

- GPS and location data (when you use navigation or broadcast features)
- Device type, IP address, browser type
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, timestamps
Information from Third Parties
- If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile photo from Google
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account
- To provide navigation, marina discovery, and service-booking features
- To display your location broadcasts to other nearby Boatees (only when you explicitly enable this)
- To send account-related notifications (no marketing without consent)
- To improve platform functionality and fix issues
- To comply with legal obligations
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your data only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers: Hosting, analytics, email delivery, and mapping services that operate under confidentiality obligations
- Location broadcasts: When you activate the live location broadcast feature, your approximate position is visible to other Boatees within the selected radius
- Legal requirements: If required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users
- Business transfers: In the event of a merger or acquisition, with appropriate notice to you
4. Third-Party Services
The Platform integrates with third-party services including Mapbox (mapping), Google (authentication), and email or infrastructure providers. Each service operates under its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review those policies independently.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as necessary to provide services. Logbook data and trip records are retained for your ongoing use. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

Under applicable Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA and provincial equivalents), you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information

The Platform is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
